Cub Scout PACK 4321
Lake Forest CA
for boys and girls Kinder-5th grade
Extra Activities and Programs
Camping: The Pack does 2-3 local family camping trips per year. These are generally Friday late afternoon until Sunday mid-late morning. Friday dinner is typically on your own. Adults share in meal prep, cooking, and cleaning. Everyone, including Scouts, clean up their own “mess kit” (plate, bowl, fork, spoon, cup, etc.) at a washing station that includes rinsing, cleaning, sanitizing, and drying. Campfires and campfire programs are a highlight of the evenings. A few activities and some free time are included in the weekend of camping, perhaps night hikes, star gazing, bat walks or rocket launching. Families will camp in their own tent and will need to bring their own gear. The Pack owns shade shelters, coolers, water coolers, stoves, and cookware that is needed for camping. Please don’t run out and buy all the gear at once or buy the most expensive gear you can find. Please ask us for more details.
NOVA Awards: STEM based activities that are an optional, supplemental part of the Scouting program. Our Pack will be supporting these activities for Wolves and older. Activity areas include Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Earth Science, Wildlife and the natural world around you, Space Exploration, Symmetry and Archaeology. Fees may apply for activities or supplies.
Service Activities: Periodically we will plan service days for scouts to participate in. These benefit our schools, Charter organization and our community.
Cub Scout Camp: Optional one week summer day camp that all scouts can attend.
SCOUTStrong Active Lifestyle Award Challenge: Promoting a healthy active lifestyle for our parents and scouts.
Cub Scout Shooting Awards: Archery, BB gun shooting, and slingshot shooting are restricted to day camps, Cub Scout/Webelos Scout resident camps, council-managed family camping programs, or council activities where there are properly trained supervisors and where all standards for BSA shooting sports are enforced.
